    A very pretty 1886 in superior condition.

    Fine Deluxe M1886 Winchester Rifle, #68481, Manufactured 1892. Caliber .38-56, 26" octagon barrel, deluxe wood, checkered, pistol gripped. All features confirmed by factory letter. Overall a very sharp crisp gun, retaining 70% original blue, the balance mixing/ fading to a pleasing plum brown. Frame with 20% case colors, the balance clean and smooth with untouched light gray to bright color. Lever with a few touches of salt and peppering, else excellent. Mechanically perfect, mint bore, fine markings. Deluxe grain stock fine with ebony inset on the bottom of the pistol grip. A few scratches and minor dents, with one abrasion on the left side bottom of the pistol grip. Butt stock retains 80% of the original varnish while the forestock exhibits a pleasing smooth rich patina.
