Exceptional Condition Colt 1871-1872 Colt Open Top Revolver Caliber .44 RF, #1309 Matching. Gun retains 90% of the original factory nickel with all screws retaining 95% of the original bright blue. Just some nickle loss on the back of the barrel housing, the front edge of the cylinder and the muzzle, with very minor loss on the straps. Steel backstrap and brass trigger guard. Correct barrel marking and marked only with Colt's / Patent on the left side of the frame. Crisp 100% cylinder scene, all other markings excellent. Mechanically perfect with excellent bore. The unquestionably period ivory stocks with rich mellow patina and minor surface age cracks, primarily on the bottom. The gun is overall untouched and an exceptional early example of this scarce and very desirable Colt single action revolver.
