Comanche: Captain Miles Keogh's Horse, the Only Survivor of Custer's Last Stand. Comanche, many times wounded, was found wandering the battlefield and nursed back to health. For years he was the "mascot" of the 7th Cavalry. Sioux witnesses credited Keogh with refusing to shoot his horse to use it for cover, as the rest of the soldiers did. Offered here are three items:
    (1) A scarce 1880s D. F. Barry cabinet photo of Comanche.
    (2) A scarce F. Jay Haynes stereoview of Comanche (at least in this photo, the trooper holding the horse bears a striking resemblance to Custer!)
    (3) A Haynes stereoview of Curly, the scout who witnesses the battle from a safe distance after being released by Custer, on horseback by the Custer monument.
All three show light to moderate aging, but are in very good condition.
