Description

Colt Conversion of M1861 Navy Revolver to .38 RF #2858. All parts bear number 2858 with the exception of the cylinder which is numbered 62033. 1871/72 patent dates on left side of frame. Cylinder retains 50% of the scene. Mechanically fine, excellent markings, very good bore. 5½" barrel with German silver blade front sight, the ejector rod thumbpiece is brass. All obviously period. All metal generally smooth and gray with just a few small patches of very light pitting, negligible. Grips show wear at the corners but excellent with rich untouched patina. Interesting gun showing the endless variety evident in these early conversions.
