Description

Andrew Johnson Indian Peace Medal Signed by Anthony Paquet, 1865, silvered bronze, 76mm diameter x 7mm thickness, Julian IP-40. The obverse carries a bust of Johnson facing right; the reverse depicts Columbia and an Indian chief clasping hands before a peace altar supporting a bust of George Washington. High relief and quite substantial. Most of the silvering is worn off, however the medal is un-pierced and free of damage. Very fine condition.
