    A Lot of Two Swords. A presentation grade, pristine condition, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Patriarchs Militant, by Henderson-Ames, Kalamazoo, Michigan, circa 1900. The sword is overall about mint, retaining 98% of the original gilt. The scabbard does show some wear, retaining about 40% of the original nickel, the balance smooth and gray with absolutely no dents. The fully and finely etched blade includes the owner's name (F. N. Hatch), scrimshaw carved ivory grip, folding counterguard. The sword features the appropriate symbols of the lodge, including PM on both the counterguard and the middle scabbard mount, denoting the highest rank of the lodge.

    The other, a sword patterned after the US M1840 artillery saber. 26¼" strongly curved blade shows some sharpening and is rounded at the tip, else clean and gray. The hilt is cast entirely of brass including the grip. Guard with floral/ leaf motifs, the grip pebbled with a black finish. Hilt about perfect with nice patina. Leather scabbard excellent with just a few chips/ cracks on the finish, very sound, Large sheet brass mounts with the lower mount measuring 8½". Mounts excellent with just a few scattered dents and nice patina. The ring mounts display floral decoration. The two pieces.
