[Frank Baldwin] Daughter of the Regiment Juanita Baldwin Archive. Large assortment of ephemera related to Juanita Baldwin, daughter of two-time Medal of Honor [MOH] winner Frank D. Baldwin. Juanita traveled with her father to various frontier posts in Texas, Illinois, Washington, and elsewhere. She married an Englishman, A. C. G. Williams-Foote, who joined the American army to impress her father and win his approval for their marriage. Her son, Baldwin Williams-Foote served in both world wars. She traveled to Europe and attended many social events, appropriate to a young ingénue from a distinguished family. The main attraction, we feel, is a 10 .25" x 12" scrap book album (made by "Mark Twain's Scrap Book" company in 1881). There are envelopes addressed to her at Ft. Keogh and to the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Detroit, an 1885 dance card from Vancouver Barracks ("my first party with 'big' people"), schoolgirl sketches, Cornell dance cards and invitations, West Point dance card, Ft. Bliss concert program for "Nita's" mother, 1900 dance card for Ft. Sheridan, photo of Ft. Sam Houston in Texas ("I made my debut here in 1889"), photos of military posts and personnel, family photos, etc. The album has 152 pages, but material appears primarily through page 56. Most items are glued down, but some are loose. The archive also includes a passel of ephemera, including tintypes, mounted albumen photos, cabinet cards, Valentines, wedding invitations, President McKinley White House invitation from 1898, two autograph albums (signatures of Nelson Miles and Frank D. Baldwin), and "a whole lot more". This is a graphic slice of social and military history.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
