Gigantic Thirty-Four Star Civil War Era Flag. Measuring 20' 7" x 10' 6"! The history of exactly when and where this huge, well-made flag was used has been lost, but it surely must have been an important and prominent location. It is made of light-weight wool bunting, and is machine stitched. Each star measures 4.5" point to point, and the cotton cloth stars have been cut into the field with hand stitching so as to be visible from both sides. Hand-whipped eyelets along with 0.25" rope looped at both ends for suspension. 1.75" canvas hoist. An amazing display presence if one has the space to accommodate it! Ex-collection: famed photographer Richard Avedon.
