    Gibbs Civil War .54 Caliber Percussion Carbine A very scarce carbine with a total production of only 1052 the majority issued to the 10th Missouri Cavalry and the 13th and 16th New York Cavalry. Generally smooth metal with plum colored barrel, remainder of steel parts showing traces of case colors. Fine bore, mechanically perfect. Walnut stock with a 2" hairline forward of the lever mechanism, an old 1 1/2" shallow chip at the sling ring. 3/4" initials at the carved butt tang otherwise the stock with just some scattered shallow dents. A very nice untouched example of this very scarce Civil War carbine that rarely appears available for sale.
