George Armstrong Custer: Railroad Pass Inscribed to Custer and Wife. During the post-Civil War period, Custer engaged in military operations against Native Americans, notably the Cheyenne and Sioux. He operated out of Forts Riley and Abraham Lincoln in Kansas. The Kansas Pacific Railway issued this 3.5" x 2.5" pass to "Genl. G. A. Custer and Wife" for the year 1870. It incorporates the state seals of Kansas and Colorado and was signed by A. Anderson, the General Superintendent of the line. The reverse was updated with the inscription: "Good until Jan. 6th/71. Geo. Noble Supt." This evocative piece was actually handled by Custer and is in excellent condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
