    Four 18th Century American Manuscripts. 1). Autograph Note Signed, "Tristram Bartlett" and "Nathan Chele", one page, 4.25" x 3.25", Brookline, Massachusetts, January 15, 1776. The signatories authorize Limuel Noyes to garner their wages. Uneven lower edge, else very good condition; 2). Autograph Letter Signed, "Pela' Webster", one page with docketing, 8" x 9.25", Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, January 28, 1779, to Weleomi Arnold, Providence, Rhode Island. Webster, a merchant, quotes current market prices for diverse commodities ranging from iron to turnips. Stains and minor splits, one small area of loss to lower page. Good condition; 3). Document Signed, "Stephen Brown", one page, 6,25" x 7.5", January 19, 1785. Brown testifies that his deceased neighbor, Robert Rogers, was "...conversing about mischiefs done by the Indians..." and twice claimed to have been a soldier. Small splits on folds, else very good condition; 4). Autograph letter Signed, "John Taylor", one page, 8" x 12.75", Albany, New York, January 30, 1793 to Benjamin Walker. This letter discusses money owed Baron von Steuben, the Prussian officer who served under George Washington. Nearly fine condition. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
