Very Nice Snider Conversion of a P1853 Enfield to Caliber .577 Snider. All metal smooth and dark, mixing with some original blue. Overall very sharp and crisp and complete and original in every respect, with the exception of the cleaning rod which is actually from a P1856 Enfield short rifle. Lock with Crown / V. R. at tail and 1860 / Enfield. Excellent markings including the typical myriad of British proofs, mechanically perfect with mint bore. The gun is overall completely untouched. All brass furniture clean and excellent. Wood also excellent with smooth dark untouched patina. Just a few nicks/dents along the ramrod channel and a small piece is broken from the toe of the butt, easily restored. Nice stockmakers' marks on both sides of butt. An extremely nice example of this innovative longarm that was the standard British infantry rifle from 1866 to 1871.

You reach a customer base that is in many ways completely unknown to the major auction houses, and your marketing to this base is as professional as one could hope for. As I continue to wind down my holdings.
