Paintings: Reginald Wymer, "Royal Artillery Officer, 1830" and "Royal Horse Artillery Officer, 1815", both 9" x 14' (sight size), each painting framed with a French matte to an overall size of 15.25" x 21". The "Royal Artillery Officer, 1830" shows a standing officer wearing a bell topped shako pattern 1830-1840 and an officer's coatee. The "Royal Horse Artillery Officer, 1815" pictures a mounted officer wearing a Tarelton helmet and has a note on the verso that reads, "R.H.A. 1815 / Painted to lend to "Gunner" magazine / for photograph & production. / (Cavalry B.)". Each painting is signed "R. Wymer" in the lower right. A fine pair of paintings.Reginald Augustus Wymer (1849 - 1935) one of the finest military illustrators renowned for his accuracy and detail in both British and Continental uniforms.
