    High Grade French Cavalry Officers Saber 1878/1854 44 1/2" overall with a 38 1/2" double fuller blade mostly smooth and gray with dark staining and small areas of minor pitting. Spine marked "Mre d' Armes de Chatl 1878" and Dragon Mle 1854 . Triple branch guard with heavy cast decoration where the branches join the guard, on the quillon, where the guard enters the pommel and on the pommel face with vine and berry devices, scrolls and acanthus leaves, in excellent condition showing 25% original gilt. Black leather grip with twisted wire wrap perfect. Inside guard stamped "Manceaux Paris" and stamped "C 45 CP". Steel scabbard with double ring mounts pierced drag in excellent condition with minor staining.
