1st Empire French Heavy Cavalry Saber Klingenthal November 1811. Blade generally smooth and gray with some scattered salt and peppering and just a few tiny patches of very light pitting. No nicks and excellent markings including proper proofs. Hilt excellent with just a few dents on the underside of the guard which is marked A92 on the underside and 174, with proof marks, on the knucklebow. Nice patina, branches perfect. The leather wrapped grip is perfect but the brass wire wrap is missing. Scabbard also excellent with smooth dark patina and just some very light scattered surface rust, absolutely no dents or dings. Would clean very nicely leaving no pitting. A very fine untouched example of this 1st Empire 'working' saber.
