    Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King's Overseas Hat and Naval Pilots' Wings with Signed Card From the Naval Relief Fund Auction. The Naval Relief Fund auctions were and continue to be a source of fund raising to help sailors and Marines with financial assistance both at home and abroad. Many celebrated WWII leaders donated uniforms and other personal effects to help the Relief society raise funds. We are pleased to offer Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King's gray cotton-twill overseas hat with clutch-back metal five-star Fleet Admiral's rank and 1½" gold Naval aviator wing pinned to either side. Also included is King's 3" Amico maker marked, pin back Naval Aviator's wing. The items are accompanied by a 3" x 5" typed note card reading "Navy Relief Fund Auction II/ Item: Naval Officers Summer Hat & Breast Wings./ Lot Number: 563/ Donated By: E.J. Kings, Fleet Admiral U.S.N." and signed "E J King". Both hat and wing are in excellent condition.
