    First Model Maynard .50 Caliber Carbine The 20" round to octagon barrel retaining much original blue mixing with smooth brown patina. Very nice with very fine bore. hammer with 50% bright blue, bright furniture with a couple of small area of very light pitting on the front of the frame, minor. Traces of case colors on the lever, there is a crack across the rear sight tang at the first screw, easily repaired. Mechanically perfect. Walnut stock excellent, with a worn chip at the toe. Standard markings are sharp and clear, interior of the patchbox has the original paper Maynard label. A very fine example of this very scarce Maynard carbine.
