    Description

Fine American .58 Caliber Flintlock Pistol. 9" overall with a 4 7/8" octagon / cannon muzzle barrel, top engraved with simple scroll / line and script initials which appear to be "JPY". Barrel is bright gray with sharp edges just some minor pitting at the touch hole. English lock marked "Rogers & Brothers Warranted" with decorative engraving behind the hammer, fine action. Brass trigger guard with simple scroll engraving, tang was broken off and wood filled in its place - appears to be an old possible period repair. Stock is highly figured walnut showing a few small cracks that really do not detract. Teardrop carved grip features a pierced and engraved thumb piece and engraved brass teardrop inlays that are both missing tips. A fine 18th century American pistol.
