    Fantastic Medal and Shooting Award Group to Chief Gunners Mate Earl Dean Fleming (1890-1949), U.S. Navy, Circa 1907-1945. Earl Fleming entered the U.S. Navy September 13, 1907. His campaign medals include: (1) U.S. Navy Mexican Service Medal, numbered 4369 on the edge. (2) Dominican Campaign Medal, numbered 553 on the edge. (3) U.S. Navy Good Conduct Medal with three clasps including "U.S. Navy Rifle Team Annapolis, Md.", "U.S.S. California" and "Fourth Award". The medal is inscribed: "C.S.C. / 47729. / Earl Dean / Fleming / Receiving Ship / at New York / 14 Oct. 1919". (4) Fleming's WWI Victory Medal , WWII Victory Medal, and WWII American Campaign round out his service awards. His shooting awards include: (5) the rare U.S. Navy gold Expert Team Rifleman badge, engraved "E. D. Fleming. / Chief / Gunners Mate / U.S. Navy" on the reverse. (6) Bronze U.S. Navy marksmanship medal with Sharpshooter, Expert and "1910/1911/1911" date clasps. Fleming's name is engraved on the reverse of the medal and Expert clasp. (7) U.S. Navy bronze Expert Rifleman shooting award. (8) 1922 National Match trophy medal. (9) 1922 National Match Individual Rifle Match medal. (10) Two NRA Expert Rifle Marksmanship medals and United Service Trophy Match medal. (11) Fleming's ID bracelet, WWI dog tag (with fingerprint on the reverse), his WWII dog tags, also with fingerprints and two loose California Rifle and Pistol Association medals. Lastly, Fleming's Entitlement to Awards document from the General Services Administration is included. All items are in excellent condition, though a couple of shooting award medal's ribbons are frayed and torn. A fine group lending itself to more research.
