Exceptional Condition Cook & Brother New Orleans M1841 Style Confederate Naval Cutlass. 20 1/2" blade with median ridge is gray and untouched, excellent with no nicks, rust. or pitting, and exhibiting striations, and a few small flaws, consistent with the forging process. All brass hilt with fish scale grip perfect. Exhibits a few casting flaws, including 'blow hole' at the top of the pommel. Typical somewhat rough pitted like finish on the guard. Deeply die stamped "Cook & Brother" on the front upper face of the guard. Really an exceptional example.
