    Confederate Soldier's Letter on CSA Letterhead with large vignette featuring Jefferson Davis. Two pages including integral blank, 5" x 8", Corinth, Mississippi, July 14, 1861. Thad Markett writes to his sister Mary regarding illnesses among his unit: "Some with measles, others with numonia [sic] & Billious [sic] fever." Letter is accompanied by the original transmittal envelope. There is a T.W. Markett listed in the Civil War Database for the state of Mississippi; it is likely the author of this letter. Enlistment dates are not given, but his rank is listed as 1st Sergeant.
