    Description

    Confederate "Dog River" Cavalry Saber 34" curved blade with unstopped fuller that runs open to within 1" of the guard and 10" of the tip. Clean blade bright / gray with a few areas of dark staining. High copper content brass guard with a few casting flaws and rough finish, outer guard bent. Pommel also shows casting flaws and a crude seam. Leather grip and wire replaced. Typical Confederate iron body scabbard with crude heavy seam, wide brass lipped throat and brass ring mounts with iron rings. Scabbard exhibits remains of silver paint and a number of shallow dents.
