Colt M1862 .36 Caliber Police Percussion Revolver #32701, Mfg. in Early 1866. Metal generally smooth and gray with absolutely no rust or pitting. Matching numbers although the cylinder shows some abrasion and is totally unmarked. Mechanically fine, tight and crisp, barrel marking a bit weak, else excellent markings, very good bore and very good nipples. Brass straps with nice patina and the grip is excellent retaining most of a very old coat of varnish. The barrel is now precisely 5 3/8" with the entire barrel housing clearly having been moved back very slightly, likely during the period of use, to tightened the gun up, barely perceptible. A very presentable 1862 Colt Police revolver.
