    William Tecumseh Sherman: Assorted Ephemera. Group of eight items, including: postal used envelope addressed in his hand sent July 23, 1876 (repaired tears top and right), engraved calling card, bold cabinet card (trimmed at bottom), a small 1876 handbill signed in type by Sherman setting the time and location for the Society of the Army of Tennessee re-union, an 1875 4-page ALS on bifolium "Headquarters Army of the United States" stationery to General R. P. Buckland expressing disappointment that neither of them were consulted on the location of a monument to their comrade-in-arms General McPherson (referenced in the aforementioned handbill), a similar 1876 ALS to Buckland asking that materials related to McPherson's early career be provided to John Logan for his dedicatory speech, a similar 1881 two-page ALS mounted within an album-page window or mat, sent to Herbert Hill of Boston, expressing his satisfaction at the disposition of his donated saddle and the raising of $50,000 "for a noble and patriotic purpose", concluding "Sympathy with you fully in your enthusiasm over old war times & memories."
