Canteen shows honest wear and use with two holes, one along the bottom seam and a 1" hole in the upper center of the brown wool cover. retains the complete linen sling with a few edge nicks but intact and sound. Neatly hand carved wooden stopper with a small hole in the top for attaching a string to the strap loop. Neatly and deeply carved on the pewter spout, and unquestionably period, "E. S. Follet / B Co. / 75th." Ezra S. Follett enlisted in the 75th New York Infantry, in Company B, on 11/26/61 and mustered out 11/25/64.
