    Very Nice Percussion .577 Caliber Belgian Made Brazilian Light Minie Rifle With Ohio Surcharge Metal generally smooth and dark with just some pitting around the nipple, very nice. All brass furniture clean and excellent. Wood also excellent with just a few minor dents commensurate with use. Oddly each side of the butt stock is decorated with a single brass tack. Brass wrist shield shaped escutcheon with American eagle and surcharged in the wood "OHIO". Mechanically fine, bore now smooth. Manufactured in Liege by Drissen & Cie, and there logo is stamped at several places on the gun being an anchor flanked by the letters D and C. Complete and original in every respect including ramrod, rear sight and bayonet lug. Exceptionally nice example that saw service with Federal troops during the Civil War.
