Very Fine US Model 1850 Foot Officers Sword Marked Boker NYC On Pommel 32" blade excellent retaining much of its original luster and just some very minor scattered staining. Absolutely no rust, pitting or nicks. Obverse with etching for 2/3 of its length including floral / scrollwork, arms panoplies including large horizontal spread wing eagle with motto. The reverse with similar motifs with large horizontal US in the center, marked W.Clauberg Solingen on the ricasso. Blade retains the original leather washer. Regulation brass hilt perfect with untouched patina, pommel neatly die stamped "Boker NYC", on the face. The first example of this we've seen. Sharkskin grip with triple wire wrap is perfect. Scabbard dark with mostly smooth surface save for a small area of minor pitting at the lower mount. A most attractive and unusual Civil War foot officer's sword in superb untouched condition.
