    Description

Very Fine Starr .54 Caliber Percussion Breech Loading Carbine, #13547. Barrel, trigger plate retain most of the original blue just some fading, mixing with dark smooth patina. Frame, breechblock, hammer retain most of the original case colors with just some fading. Mechanically perfect, mirror bore. Wood also about perfect, appears to be untouched but no visible inspector's cartouche. Brass furniture with nice mellow patina. An truly exceptional, and rather early, Starr Civil War carbine, as used extensively by Federal cavalry units in the western theatre of operations.
