    U.S. Model 1850 Foot Officer's Sword Wm Horstmann Phila Nice untouched condition. 30 1/2" blade bright / gray with areas of smooth dark staining. No pitting or nicks. Obverse with etching for 2/3 of its length including floral / scrollwork, arms panoplies including spread wing eagle with motto, marked with knights head on the ricasso and etched "W.H. Horstmann & Sons Philadelphia". The reverse with similar motifs with large horizontal US in the center. Blade retains the original red wool washer. Regulation brass hilt excellent with untouched patina. Sharkskin grip and triple wire wrap perfect. Leather scabbard body is excellent and solid just showing scattered wear to the black finish. Brass scabbard mounts excellent with one very small dent on the drag.
