    U.S. Model 1840 NCO Sword, Collins & Co 1862, Identified to Moses P. Boose, Co G, 111th Ohio Inf. 32" bright blade in excellent condition marked on the obverse ricasso "1862" and on the reverse ricasso "Collins & Co Hartford Conn", the "Conn" being poorly struck. Brass handle in excellent condition. The kidney shaped guard scratched "M.P. Boose" on the upper side. Brass mounted leather body scabbard is excellent, just showing a few areas of crazing and weakness at the drag. Moses P. Boose enlisted on August 21, 1862 as a sergeant in Company G, 111th Ohio Infantry. He died of disease on March 23, 1863 at Bowling Green, Kentucky.
