Unusual Variant US M1860 Light Cavalry Officer's Saber 34 3/4" blade mostly bright with minor scattered dark staining, marked with the letter "T" on the ricasso. Triple branch hilt and pommel cap show heavy scroll engraving, guard and pommel face with flower and leaf engraving, absolutely exquisitely executed, with the hilt in about perfect condition. Leather grip and triple wire wrap are perfect. Steel scabbard dark with scattered old surface rust and a few shallow dents. A nice untouched example of a most unusual Civil War cavalry officer's saber and absolutely unique in our experience.
