    Two Imported Model 1840 Cavalry Sabers. As follows. (1) 34 7/8" blade marked on the ricasso with a Rabbit Head over "F P " proof for the German maker Friedrick Poetter. Blade is mostly smooth and gray with areas of dark staining. Brass guard is in excellent condition. Leather wrap exhibits minor losses, twisted wire wrap slightly loose. Steel scabbard exhibits a smooth brown finish and a few dents at the drag. (2) 34 7/8" unmarked blade with a bright / gray finish. Grip with about 50% leather, wire is complete but slightly loose. Very good brass guard. Steel scabbard mostly smooth and brown but exhibits patches of surface rust.
