Scarce and Colorful Sheridan's Cavalry Corps Badge. Adopted unofficially in 1864, photographic evidence shows the Army of the Potomac Cavalry Corps Badge quickly became popular with many officers of that department. This example is made from thin brass and measures 1.5" x 1.75". In the center of the rays is an integral oval which is filled with blue enamel in the center of which is set a small a pair of crossed sabers. The overall condition is sound and the original t-bar pin remains affixed on the reverse. A nice example of a difficult to find emblem.
