Description
Pre Civil War Militia Kepi Gray wool body measuring 4" from base to crown. White wool 1 1/4" band peaking at the front to 2 1/8", white wool crown. 1/2" adjustable tarred leather chin strap held fast with two Federal eagle buttons. Tarred leather visor with leather edging and green checkered oilcloth underneath. Interior of the hat with light blue polished cotton lining and quilted crown. 1 1/2" leather sweatband firmly stitched to the body. White wool shows scattered mothing and a ghost of a three leaf clover insignia on the front. Gray wool body excellent. Leather visor shows edge wear.Auction Info
