    Description

Pair of Indian Wars Period Era Cavalry Carbine Slings and Scabbards. Both slings are brown harness leather measuring about 1 ½"" in width with brass buckles and belt tips. Each is stamped "ROCK ISLAND / ARSENAL". Metal carbine clip and swivel. The slings appear complete and have faint regimental/property marks. The leather surfaces are crazed and slightly dry but the leather is pliable. The lot also includes a pair of leather carbine boot scabbards, one stamped "ROCK ISLAND / ARSENAL", the other with no visible maker marks. One of the boots is slightly different in style having a small brass plate mounted at the top of the forward side. The Rock Island example is in excellent condition with only minor wear from storage; the other example is rather dry with significant crazing to the leather. From the Michael Yeck Collection.
