Mismatched Colt M1860 .44 Caliber Percussion Army Revolver. Frame, barrel housing and trigger guard #113589, cylinder #3589, mfg. mid 1863, backstrap #6284. Gun very nice with smooth dark patina overall, with the exception of the mismatched backstrap which is light gray and is neatly engraved in block letters "P. J. Walton - 1900", significance unknown. Retains only traces of cylinder scene, but very legible serial number and patent markings. All other markings excellent. Mechanically tight and crisp, fine nipples, excellent bore. Barrel with a series of very small scratches on the left hand side, very minor. Also a number of very small dents on the face of the brass inside grip strap, again minor. Grips excellent retaining most of an old coat of varnish, with three notches deeply cut on each side at the bottom. A very attractive and somewhat enigmatic Civil War Colt Army.
