    Description

Magnificent Carved Cased Meerschaum Pipe with Military Motifs. This large pipe has two figures carved around the bowl, one, a man in an officer's military dress, obviously wounded, with one arm raised in the air. Reaching around the bowl, carved as a large plant, is another man wearing a brimmed slouch hat, a cartridge belt, and high boots or leggings. In his right hand, he holds a revolver, pointing it at the head of the wounded man. This very interesting scene is well-patinated to a rich butterscotch color. Hand-carved, the pipe is unique. The stem appears to be amber. The pipe has a fitted, hard bodied case covered in leather and lined with velvet and satin. The lining is stamped, "Genuine Meerschaum" and has the maker's initials, "G.P.F.". This wonderful pipe is in excellent condition.
