    Lot of Seven Miscellaneous Books, Currency, and Ordnance With Confederate Association. Includes: 1) Mary A. H. Gay. Life in Dixie During the War. Atlanta: Charles Byrd, 1897. Publisher's original cloth binding. Hinges broken; cover soiled and worn, poor condition. 2) Alexander H. Stephens. A Constitutional View of the Late War Between the States, Volume I. Philadelphia: National Publishing Company, 1868. Publisher's original cloth binding. Boards worn at the spine; contents foxed, else good. 3) Single spur of unknown origin. 4) Two lead bullets. 5) Small iron "egg". 6) Four examples of Confederate currency. 7) Framed Libby Prison illustration.
    These items belonged to Caius G. Fennell, the great-great-grandfather of the consignor. Fennell was eleven years old during the war and lived on the Fennell Plantation near Gunterville, Alabama where he retrieved some of these items immediately after a battle between the 15th Pa. Cavalry defeated Confederate forces. Others he collected and were is personal possessions The items listed have been passed through the family and are accomapnied by passed down through the family a letter from Fennell's great-great-granddaughter confirming and detailing the family history.
