    Late Civil War Captain of infantry Frock Coat. Fine quality dark blue wool, in overall very fine condition. Good sleeve cut although not as strongly accentuated as an earlier war coat. Nine button front, three buttons on each closed cuff, all buttons with Superior Quality backmark and several possibly replaced. 1 1/8" high standup collar with blue velvet lining. Black silk body lining with extensive and intricate quilting executed in a pattern of small diamonds. Silk sleeve lining with white, tan and narrow light blue stripes. Breast pocket lined with brown polished cotton as are the tail pockets. Raw cut bottom edge. 1 7/8" wide triple border bullion shoulder straps of captain of infantry, with light blue wool background, excellent, just wear on the nap. Nice representative Civil War company grade officer's frock coat C. 1864-65.
