    Scarce Civil War Regimental History

    James J. McMyler. History of the 11th Wisconsin Veteran Volunteer Infantry. Compiled and Published by James J. McMyler. New Orleans, 1865. With only the bottom wrap present, laid into a period cloth bound folder. With ownership signature on the verso of the title page by Company E Sergeant Samuel C. Kirkpatrick. The first section of this volume details, as the subtitle states, the "Marches, Hardships and Battles" of the 11th Wisconsin Veteran Volunteer Infantry "From its Organization to October 1864." The second, catalogs the officers, privates, transfers, discharges, and deaths of the regiment, from Companies A through K.

    Condition: Only the bottom wrap remains, with heavy wear to the title and early pages, resulting in creasing and chipping along the right margins. Noticeable wear at the edges and corners throughout. Scattered foxing throughout, with light pencil notations by the original owner at some margins.
