    Identified Civil War Soldier's Tin Whale Oil Lamp.
    3 1/2" high, 3 3/8" diameter at the base. Brass, screw in burner with two vented tubes. 2 1/4" oval loop handle. Neatly and scratched on the bottom, showing obvious wear and unquestionably period, "3rd Conn. Vols. / P. Dugnan Co. E.". Patrick Dugnan enlisted in the 3rd Connecticut on April 25, 1861 and mustered out at Hartford on 8/21/61. During Dugnan's term of service the regiment was engaged at Bull Run. In fine condition.
