    Description

Historic Patriotic Identification Disk Belonging to Private Lorenzo Brown, Company M, New York 3rd Cavalry. Non-dug example of a brass 30mm identification disk with a pleasing patina and clearly stamped "LORENZO BROWN CO. M. 3rd N.Y. CAV. COLBORNE . C. W." On the reverse is a raised spread-winged eagle surrounded by "IN THE WAR OF UNION 1861. &2 &3 &4". Lorenzo Brown enlisted as a private on August 6, 1862 at Brockport, New York. Shortly after, he mustered into M Company of the Third New York cavalry. He survived the war and mustered out on June 7, 1865 at Norfolk, Virginia. Colborne, or Port Colborne is a city on Lake Erie in the Niagara Region of Ontario. It is unknown if he was a Canadian citizen at the time he joined but Brockport, where he enlisted, is about 87 miles from Colborne. A fine example of this popular collectible.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
