Group of Three Civil War Artillery Projectiles. Group includes: (1) CS 2.94 inch "Virginia" pattern Read shell. Copper time fuze adapter with nice, high turned copper tapered ring sabot. This bourreleted Read shell has a crude mould seam visible along with a deep lathe dimple. A choice projectile with a dark olive patina.; (2) US 3.61 inch "Rifled-Six" ribbed cone Schenkl shell. Retains the body portion of a Schenkl fuze with Schenkl's patent information visible. Light surface rust.; (3) US 3.63 inch 20 pounder Parrott Type II shell with a nice example of a Rabbeted Brass Band Sabot. Needs only a Parrott fuze, which would easily screw into the threads. Nice smooth and a nice example of a projectile that saw service at coastal emplacements. Another very nice group.
