    Group of Eleven Civil War Cartes de Visites. Many identified and most likely members of the 11th New Jersey Vol. Inf. The group includes: Vignetted bust portrait wearing 4 button blouse, signed on front "Thomas B. Titsworth 11th New Jersey Vols." Titsworth enlisted 8/01/62 and mustered out 6/6/65; Portrait of officer in frock coaqt with straps, sword belt with over the shoulder sling and sword scabbard. Slouch hat with infantry insignia on the front on table at his side. Holds M1850 Staff & Field officer's sword. Backmark of J. Good / Trenton, N. J. Signed in ink on verso by a 1st Lieutenant of Co. C 11th New Jersey Vols. but signature difficult to deciper despite being bright and crisp; Vignetted bust portrait of officer. Backmark of Stoutenburgh & Rose, Newark, N. J. Slightly trimmed on bottom. Signed on front "Yours Truly / C. F. Gage / Capt. Co. E"; portrait of lieutenant wearing frock coat with shoulder straps, slough hat on urn at his side. Backmark of Victor Piard, Jersey City; nice full standing view of officer wearing fatigue blouse, shoulder straps, slouch hat. Sword belt with over the shoulder sling and non-reg foot officer's swordat his side. Backmark of Woods Galleries / Newark, N. J.; nice portrait of officer with unruly hair ,. Wears double breasted frock coat and regulation officer's overcoat. Backmark od D. Clark / New Beunswick, N. J.; Nice seated view of officer wearing fatigue blouse with shoulder straps which appear to be those of a captain. Kepi with infantry insignia on front on table at his side. Jones & Brother / Philadelphia backmark; exceptionally nice portrait of 11th New Jersey Vol. Inf. Captain. Wears frock coat with shoulder straps, kepi with infantry insignia on front, sword belt with over the shoulder sling and sash, holding non-reg sword cradled in the crook of this arm. Signed on verso although somewhat faded with portions legible and other portions difficult to decipher including name, Backmark of K. W. Benicsky / New York; Heavily retouched bust portrait of "Gen. Charles Harker / Killed at Kennesaw / Mountain" Id on verso. Harker was originally from Swedesboro, New Jersey where he is buried. Backmark of J. R. Applegate / Philadelphia; CDV copy of Karker's escutcheon Civil War history. Also with Applegate backmark. All in excellent condition and a nice group of images.
