Gettysburg Veteran Scrapbook. Wonderful 68-page scrapbook belonging to Lieutenant William R. Warner of the 13th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers, who fought at Gettysburg, among other battles, and later was active in reunions. The volume measures 8" x 11" and has thick marbled boards (the spine and back cover have been papered over). The book starts out with a copy image of a photograph of Warner in uniform in 1861. There are group-shot reunion photos from the early 20th century, individual portraits of 13th Regiment veterans in their twilight years, late 19th century photographs of sites and monuments of the Gettysburg battlefield, memorial notices of deceased members, colorful reunion invitations, newspaper clippings, correspondence between members, annotations and identifications written by Warner, post-war notices, a monthly "return" form for July & August 1863 and a manuscript "Inventory of Camp & Garrison Equipage" from December 1863. We count twelve photographs, two of which appear to date from the Civil War. Contents are in excellent condition. Truly a unique assemblage.
