    Fine Insignia Grouping. This collection of insignia includes: an early and fine condition Pattern 1839 waist belt plate with a single brass hook and arrow fastener on the reverse and wonderful overall patina; a large stamped brass enlisted riflemen's "bugle" in excellent condition with sharpened brass fastening pins soldered on the reverse, made for the 1858 Army Hat; an 1851 Pattern enlisted engineers' "castle" cap insignia with soldered brass loops on the reverse; scroll or "zouave" style cap letters "A" and "V;" two stamped brass patriotic stars one painted red with wire fasteners on the back and the other unpainted with a spring pin fastener; two sets of script letters for militia cartridge box plates, "OCC" and "GFG," both with wire fasteners embedded in lead filled backs. A nice group.
