Fine 19th Century European Model Brass Cannon and Wood Carriage. A beautifully detailed European cannon with a 12½" brass barrel (including cascabel) with figural dolphins, a .74 caliber bore, and 50mm diameter breech. The trunnions measure approximately 13mm. The long European-style carriage is constructed of wood and measures approximately 18" in length. The carriage was painted red at one time but the paint has worn leaving a nice "antiqued" finish. The carriage is mounted with two 7½" wheels with wooden spokes and iron rims. No maker's marks present. A most handsome example, lacking the trunnion strap pins, otherwise complete and in very good condition.
