    Description

    Confederate Marine Ambrotype. Sixth plate ruby ambrotype of CSA marine clutching sword with his hat on the table next to him. A paper insert (likely used as a guide for making a watercolor based on the image) identifies him as J. M. Robertson of Cherry Creek, Mississippi. It is housed in a green velvet-covered octagonal frame with mounted "Souvenir" cartouche on the front cover. Separations to copper preserver.
