    Confederate Brigadier General William Ruffin Cox: Presentation Masonic Gold Fob on Chain and Wooden Signet Ring. William Cox (1832-1919) fought at many important engagements during the Civil War including Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania Court House, Cold Harbor and several other campaigns, sustaining eleven wounds in the process. He surrendered his men at Appomattox Court House in April, 1865. On offer is a 14k gold Masonic fob approximately 1.5" x 1.75". Expertly engraved on the reverse is: "Presented by the Grand Lodge of North Carolina to William R. Cox P.G.M 1878-1879". The front of the fob blue enamel accents and a small diamond accent. The fob is suspended via a 12" long 18k gold chain. The opposing fob features an oval bloodstone on one side and a carnelian on the other. The narrow wooden signet ring bears the initials "W.R.C." in script. Both pieces are in excellent condition.
