Civil War Vest With Louisiana Buttons. Deep blue wool vest with two lower front pockets and one breast pocket, lined in white cotton. Vest is entirely hand sewn, 0.875" standup collar. Nine button front with two remaining Louisiana cuff buttons; "Schuyler H&G New York" and "Scovill Mf'g Co", in matching condition and patina. The vest is piped in worsted wool cord which may have been yellow, now faded to white. Back is constructed of blue polished cotton, belted - one side remains. Interior is coarse white cotton. The blue wool exhibits areas of mothing and open seams at the collar, but is in sound condition. Nice honest untouched example.
